Mechanical Workshop for Women

Tyre change, chain care, disc brake pads, and a pre-ride check. Hands on, on your own bike. 12 spots, women only.

For years the fast group ride in Zürich was a wall of men. That's shifting, and you can see it on the road: more and more women here ride for the joy of it, not to get somewhere. Road, gravel, mountain biking, bikepacking. The discipline doesn't matter. What matters is showing up.

Pedal Peak organises women-specific events alongside our mixed group rides. The goal isn't separation. It's creating spaces where women feel comfortable asking questions, setting the pace, and building confidence on the bike.

Women's group rides.

Our women's group rides run regularly through Zürich and the surrounding countryside. The pace is conversational. Routes typically cover 40 to 80 km with moderate elevation. No one gets dropped. We regroup at every junction and wait at every climb. These rides are about connection, not competition.

Mechanical workshops.

A flat tyre shouldn't end a ride. Our mechanical workshops teach essential bike maintenance in a hands-on, supportive environment. Fixing flats, adjusting brakes, indexing gears, cleaning a drivetrain. Skills that build confidence and independence on the road.

They regularly sell out. The next one, the Mechanical Workshop for Women, runs on Monday, 10 August 2026 at 18:30.

Why it matters.

I won't quote studies at you. I'll tell you what I see on our rides instead: women show up a little unsure and roll back a few hours later completely relaxed, stronger than they thought. Infrastructure matters, but community matters more. When the doubt fades and the confidence builds, that's the real impact.

Cycling is for everyone. Pedal Peak exists to make that statement real, through rides, workshops, and a culture that welcomes all levels.

Getting started.

You don't need expensive gear, a perfect bike, or a certain fitness level. You need a working bicycle and the willingness to show up. Our events page lists all upcoming rides, including women-specific events, and our routes are there if you'd rather start on your own. For everything in between, the WhatsApp community is where rides get planned and questions get answered. Just sign up and come.
